Would Labor Time Necessary Help Rationalize?

To the date, every time we buy something we use money to interact as a consumer or as a producer, in other words, we use money as the substance that allows tangible and intangible assets to be bought or sold. Each time we think about the swop of products we must also think about the substance that will allow us the interchange, this substance must have a special value for everyone who wants to participate of the market that uses that special substance, this due to the fact that to be ale to swop products they have to have a particular common value. "The real price of every thing, what every thing really costs to the man who wants to acquire it, is the toil and trouble of acquiring it. What every thing is really worth to the man who has acquired it, and who wants to dispose of it or exchange it for something else, is the toil and trouble which it can save to himself, and which it can impose upon other people."- Wealth of Nations Book 1, chapter V If we took a look back at Smith we could visualize the substance of the moment, time or more specifically labor time necessary. When you take the time to analyze and compare the substance of interchange back from Smith to now you really take a surprise, somehow labor time necessary interchange sounds much more just. If as consumers we thought a bit about the amount of labor time necessary for the products we buy and we make a conversion of what we actually pay to the time that this would symbolize, I would think maybe humans could be a little more of that man that has been sold to us, maybe humans could be a bit more rational and narrowly selfinterested, we know an homo economicus could do this with no problems, we know he would attempt to maximize utility as a consumer and profit as a producer but reality is: that man does not exist, at least not as the theory paints, I think money has moved away humanity even more from that homo economicus than before. In the world we live we are very very far from being homo economicus, sometimes I think we are everything but homo economicus, we consume with no consciousness with no regrets, would you think considering labor time necessary could rationalize human consume?
